After a surprisingly quick installation process, Windows 7 Enterprise launches in a very Vista-like environment. Microsoft's new OS includes a bunch of new features that try to make the computer easier and more enjoyable to use. In fact, this is actually an RTM ("Release To Manufacturing") version, which means it's virtually identical to the final operating system that will hit shelves next month. ![]() It does look a bit more polished in terms of bugfixing and design. Windows 7 Enterprise is not that different from the RC version we tried a few weeks ago. This version of Windows is especially addressed at IT professionals and companies that plan to upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out in October, and want to make sure their current software and hardware are fully compatible with Microsoft's new operating system.
